Satellite Museum

As the major organisation in Thailand's satellite industry, Thaicom has the policy of providing educational resources about satellites and their uses to members of the general public.

The main purpose of the Satellite Museum is to enhance people's knowledge of space, significant satellites from history, and satellite launchers and their sites. In addition, the Satellite Museum provides information about the Thaicom Satellites and the IPSTAR project including a demonstration of the applied usage of satellites

The Satellite museum is divided into six zones:
Satellite Orbits---uses models to provide information about the major orbits which include low earth orbit, medium earth orbit, geostationary orbit and polar orbit.
Satellite rockets and Launch sites----gives information about important satellites, various rockets and launch sites using both models and software simulations.
Thaicom Satellite Systems---informs about the three Thaicom satellites, Thaicom1A, Thaicom2 and Thaicom3.
IPSTAR Broadband Satellite Systems---shows the world's most advanced next-generation satellite, IPSTAR. IPSTAR is one of the most predominant broadband satellites in terms of the leading global broadband satellite platform and technology and it is being purpose-built to provide a two-way satellite Internet service to consumers. IPSTAR’s service was commenced in December 2005.
Satellite Applications ----shows applied usage of satellite technology. The observer can get hands-on experience of two-way satellite internet using the IPSTAR Terminal, one-way satellite Internet or Turbo Internet and Thaicom Protrunk. In addition, the customer's program can be downlinked using the Thaicom satellite and the Digital Direct-To-Home (Digital DTH) service can be demonstrated.
Satellites In Orbit-----The Satellite Museum's visitors can see more than two hundred models of telecommunication satellites in orbit. In this zone, the models show the relative orbital position of the satellites around the Earth.
Members of the public can also observe Thaicom's Satellite Control Room from the second floor observation gallery.
